Brian Hartzer

Brian Hartzer is the CEO of Quantium Health, a leading Ai and analytics consulting business that is a joint venture between Quantium—Australia’s leading AI and data science business—and Discovery Health, a South Africa-based global Health insurance business.

He is also the Group Executive responsible for Quantium’s global financial services business, which provides AI and analytics solutions for the banking, insurance, and wealth management sectors.

In addition to his role at Quantium, Brian is the Chairman of Beforepay, an ASX-listed salary advance business, as well as an angel investor in and advisor to several fintech and technology start-ups. 

Brian was previously the CEO of the Westpac Banking Group from 2015 to 2019, and previously served in senior executive roles at the Royal Bank of Scotland Group and ANZ Banking Group.  He started his career at First Manhattan Consulting Group in New York, San Francisco, and Melbourne.

Brian’s book, The Leadership Star: A Practical Guide to Building Engagement, was published by Wiley in April 2021.

Outside of commercial life, Brian serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Australian Museum.  

He has previously served as Chairman of Save the Children Australia, Director of the Financial Markets Foundation for Children, and Chair of the Business Advisory Committee of the Australian National University.

Brian graduated with a degree in European History from Princeton University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
