Bio

Dr Brendan Rynne is a Partner at KPMG and is the Australian firm’s Chief Economist. He has worked at KPMG nearly 30 years and has been a partner for 21 of those years. During his career at KPMG he has primarily been client facing; only taking up his current role 2 years ago where he focuses on supporting clients like Alinta, preparing Thought Leadership for the firm and providing commentary to the media. Brendan has worked as a regulatory economist advising monopoly infrastructure asset owners predominately in the airports, ports and rail sectors, while he has also advised the Commonwealth and State governments on nationally significant reforms including working for Treasury on the Henry Tax Review and Tax White Paper, Murray Darling Basin Commission and Privatisation of Airports. He is an Adjunct Professor at Queen Mary University of London and a Visiting Fellow at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research in Westminster. Brendan has a Bachelor, Masters and Ph.D in economics and a masters in finance.
