George Tharenou

George Tharenou is UBS Head of Macro Research for Australia & NZ, and Chief Economist for Australia; as well as head of Asian Economic Research. 

George has been part of the top-ranked Australia/NZ economics team since 2006, including leading the team with #1 rankings in client surveys, since 2017. Previously, George worked for 2 years at the Reserve Bank of Australia; and 2 years at Queensland Government Treasury. George holds from the Queensland University of Technology a Bachelor of Business degree double, majoring in Economics & Finance; and 1st Class Honours degree in Economics.
