Nicki Hutley

Bio

Nicki Hutley is a highly respected economic practitioner and keynote speaker.

Over her career, she has worked in financial and investment markets, and as a consultant helping to develop robust economic policy in a range of fields. She focusses on climate change and the Net Zero transition in particular, and the intersection of environmental, society and economy more broadly.

After many years in the corporate world, Nicki established her own economic consulting practice in 2021 and now advises governments, businesses and not-for-profits on a range of policy issues. Nicki is also Chief Economic Adviser to the Customer-Owned Banking Association, a Councillor on the Climate Council, and a member of the Financy Women’s Index Advisory Committee, which reports on women’s economic progress.

Nicki is a member of the Australian Business Economists’ executive committee and a past president of the Economics Society of Australia (NSW).

Nicki is a frequent commentator across the media, and a regular opinion writer for the Guardian.
