Will Denyer

Will Denyer is Gavekal’s Chief US Economist, leading analysis on US monetary policy, business cycles, corporate profitability, and interest rate dynamics. He plays a key role in managing the firm’s global research team. Will first joined Gavekal in 2005 and moved to a permanent role in 2007, based in Hong Kong. His research draws inspiration from Knut Wicksell’s work on interest rates and valuations. He holds a Master’s in Economics from Mises Graduate School and a Bachelor’s in Business and Economics from the University of Oklahoma. Fluent in English—with the occasional “y’all”—he continues his studies in Chinese.
